Project Description:
Manorbier (Pembrokeshire): Manorbier was called the pleasantest spot in Wales,' by the famous 12th century chronicler, Gerard Cambrensis, better known as Gerald of Wales, who has work in print to this day. He was, however, a little biased as he was born in the magnificent Manorbier Castle, the son of the de Barri family, who owned the Castle and were to live in it for many years. In 1997 the rest of Wales caught up with Gerald of Wales and Manorbier was designated as a conservation area within the Pembrokeshire National Park.
